Midwestern Seminary and Spurgeon College Announce Fall 2024 Chapel Speakers

KANSAS CITY, Mo—Midwestern Seminary and Spurgeon College will begin chapel services for the fall 2024 semester on Tuesday, August 27, with a convocation service led by President Jason Allen.

Midwestern Seminary chapel services, held twice per week throughout each semester, provide an opportunity for students, staff, and the wider campus community to gather for worship and hear God’s Word preached.

“Assembling the chapel schedule each semester is an incredible privilege and responsibility,” said President Jason Allen. “Who we have come to preach to our students matters immensely. Whether it is our faculty or guest preachers, each has the opportunity to shape and equip our students and demonstrate what it means to rightly handle God’s Word. As usual, I’m very encouraged with our chapel schedule for this fall semester and looking forward to worshipping with our students.”

Chapel sermons this semester will be given by Midwestern Seminary faculty members and by visiting scholars, pastors, and other ministry leaders from around the country.

The fall 2024 chapel schedule includes several special events and featured speakers. On October 2, the service will feature a panel discussion entitled “Being Baptist” with David Dockery, president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Greg Wills, professor of Church history at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. On October 29–30, Albert Mohler, president of Southern Seminary, will deliver Midwestern Seminary’s annual Spurgeon Lectures.
